The Tremblings News Letter 2022
This has been a year of firsts.
The First first, and the First of first importance, was the arrival of our First Grandchild! On the 24th April, Otis George was born. Congratulations to Tom and Charlotte!
This was swiftly followed by the first Granny and Grandpa Otis cuddles, just as soon as we could get up there. Since repeated as often as possible. Who wouldn’t? He’s gorgeous!
Otis was soon to experience some firsts of his own. Such as his first Granny-knitted woolly jumper. And his first woolly hat, also Granny knitted. And a good many other first knitted garments, and seconds, and thirds… she’s just started knitting his first school uniform.
Otis’ first family holiday came in August, when he joined the rest of the Trembling tribe down at Great Rock Farm in Devon - to celebrate Granny Annie’s 60th birthday. It’s a great place for a family holiday, with a games room and big-screen DVD for film nights, an outside BBQ and Pizza oven, some very nice gardens, Alpacas in the fields and available for Alpaca walks - and some great walking in the area as well. To be honest, Otis didn’t fully avail himself of all these facilities: I don’t think he even played one game of pool the whole time. But then, neither did I. And he did enjoy the bubbles. Well, I think he did - and Charlotte had fun with them!
And in other news…
Annie went to Rwanda again in May: this was the trip that had to be postponed last year due to Covid, but it finally happened, and she enjoyed a few weeks back in Africa, meeting up with old friends, catching up on the projects she and others have been supporting, and introducing some new people to the place and the people.
No new books out from me this year, but I have been revising and extensively re-writing the fourth in my ‘Local’ series. ‘Local Killer’ is now out for its final edit, and it should be released into the world in May. More news to come on that, and a reveal of the brilliant cover art by Liz Carter, in the new year.
But Otis is still the big news of the year, and I’m sure he’d like to wish you all...
